The Nasscom-DSCI Annual Information Security Summit was held in New Delhi during 4-6 December, 2024. Senior consultants and developers from Sujosu Technology attended the prestigious event. We present some of the highlights.
The summit featured 3 types of sessions, each tailored to specific aspects of cybersecurity.

Highlights: Day 1
Day 1 of the summit underscored the urgent need for adaptive and robust cybersecurity strategies to address the rapidly evolving threat landscape. Cloud attacks are becoming more sophisticated. With insecure code responsible for majority of the breaches and runtime threats such as API abuse and malware on the rise, organizations face mounting financial and operational risks. The necessity of scalable and automated policy management cannot be over emphasized. With security spending set to surge and Zero Trust strategies becoming the norm, organizations must navigate the complexities of hybrid and multi-cloud networks. There is also a paradigm shift through the integration of generative AI into data security and Security Operations Centers (SOC). Unlike traditional machine learning, generative AI excels in handling unstructured data and creating original outputs, making it ideal for modern security challenges.

The sessions collectively emphasized the importance of proactive, automated, and AI-driven approaches in modern cybersecurity. Whether addressing cloud vulnerabilities, policy management complexities, or the need for smarter data protection, the solutions presented on Day 1 demonstrate how cutting-edge technology can safeguard digital ecosystems against increasingly sophisticated adversaries.
Highlights: Day 2
Day 2 featured a blend of Keynote Sessions and Track Sessions, offering insights into advanced technologies and strategies in the cybersecurity domain. During the keynote sessions, several companies presented their security products and platforms, highlighting the important features and technological advancements to fight cyber attackers.
The track sessions explored the future of network security with a focus on Zero Trust, SASE (Secure Access Service Edge), SDN (Software-Defined Networking), NFV (Network Functions Virtualization) Security, Cloud-Native Security, 5G & Edge Security, OT & IoT Security, Quantum-Safe Security etc. Speakers also delved into the opportunities and challenges of generative AI in cybersecurity, with an emphasis on the following.

Security Interventions: Building robust defenses against adversarial AI and ensuring the secure implementation of Gen AI systems.
Privacy Measures: Safeguarding sensitive data used in training AI models while complying with privacy regulations.
Governance Frameworks: Establishing guidelines to ensure the ethical and responsible deployment of Gen AI technologies.
Highlights: Day 3
The final day of the summit featured several thought-provoking track sessions and keynotes. Speakers explored blockchain’s potential to enhance security and privacy; highlighted strategies for orchestrating scalable cloud environments while mitigating risks; and emphasized cross-functional collaboration between development, security, and operations teams to foster a culture of secure coding and compliance. The shift towards password-less authentication systems was also discussed.
Besides there were keynotes that offered practical insights from real-world incidents and regulatory landscapes.
Key Takeaways
The 3-day event featured state-of-the-art in cybersecurity and privacy where thought leaders and security experts provided insights into several critical issues. On one hand, they discussed emerging threats and attack techniques; while on the other, they apprised the participants about advanced security and privacy measures that can be deployed to counter them. It was an enriching experience for us and we hope that Nasscom and DSCI continue to organize such events in future.
